Good morning.The Butler County Coroner has officially identified the victims of two separate, unrelated fatal car crashes that occurred over the weekend. Authorities say twenty-eight-year-old Nickolas Patterson of Volant died early Friday from blunt force trauma following a violent two-vehicle wreck near an Interstate Seventy-Nine off-ramp in Jackson Township. Hours later, sixty-eight-year-old Laneice Olesnevich of Butler was killed in a massive multi-vehicle collision along Oneida Valley Road in Venango Township. Investigators are still working to determine the exact cause of that second crash.Youngstown police are searching for answers this morning following a weekend shooting that sent two people to the hospital. Emergency crews rushed to South Lakeview Avenue after gunfire erupted. City officials confirm that both victims were shot but are currently listed in stable condition. Detectives have not yet released any information regarding a suspect or a motive as the investigation continues.And the local festival season is heating up early in downtown Youngstown. The highly anticipated Simply Slavic Festival kicked off its pre-celebrations with a massive scratch-made baking contest over the weekend.
